Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information DokSalamat handles, why we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you across our website and mobile apps.

Effective September 8, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to DokSalamat services, including our customer and partner mobile applications, website, communications, and related services (together, the “Services”). In this policy, “DokSalamat,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Services.

DokSalamat connects users with independent doctors, healthcare organizations, skilled service providers, businesses, suppliers, masjids, barangay communities, and nonprofit organizations. Those providers or organizations may have their own privacy responsibilities and notices for information they receive directly from you.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use DokSalamat, we may collect:

  • Account and identity information: name, phone number, email address, profile photo, date of birth, gender, preferred language, login credentials, and identity or professional verification documents.
  • Health and care information: appointment details, symptoms or consultation notes you submit, prescriptions, referrals, laboratory information, medical documents, family or dependent details, and consent records.
  • Transactions and service activity: bookings, orders, quotes, jobs, wallet activity, payment status, billing records, delivery or service addresses, reviews, support requests, and dispute information. Payment card or wallet details may be handled directly by our payment providers; we generally receive transaction references and status rather than full payment credentials.
  • Communications and content: chat messages, call metadata, attachments, questions, reviews, community posts, and messages sent to support. Audio or video from a consultation is not recorded by DokSalamat unless we clearly tell you and obtain any consent required by law.
  • Device, usage, and technical information: IP address, device and app identifiers, operating system, browser type, language, crash or diagnostic information, log events, pages or features used, and security activity.
  • Location information: a city, saved address, or precise device location when you choose to share it for nearby results, maps, delivery, home visits, or service coverage. You can use manual location entry where the feature supports it.
  • Device permissions: camera and photo or file access for profile images and documents; microphone and camera for calls; notifications for reminders and updates; and calendar access only when you choose a calendar feature. Permission availability depends on your device and the DokSalamat app you use.
  • Partner and provider information: professional credentials, licences, business records, service areas, availability, payout information, and information needed for verification and marketplace operations.

We collect information directly from you, automatically from your device when you use the Services, and from providers, organizations, payment partners, or other users when needed to deliver a transaction or service involving you.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and secure accounts, verify identity or credentials, and authenticate users;
  • show relevant providers and organizations, including results based on your selected or permitted location;
  • arrange appointments, consultations, bookings, orders, deliveries, quotes, payments, and support;
  • enable messages, calls, notifications, reminders, medical-vault features, and records you choose to store;
  • operate partner tools, investigate abuse or disputes, prevent fraud, and protect users and the Services;
  • maintain, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve performance and accessibility;
  • send service communications and, where allowed, offers or updates based on your choices; and
  • comply with law, enforce our agreements, and establish or defend legal claims.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, your consent, compliance with legal obligations, protection of vital interests, and our legitimate interests in operating safe and reliable Services. You may withdraw consent at any time, but this does not affect processing already completed.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share only what is reasonably necessary with:

  • Your chosen providers and organizations to fulfill appointments, services, orders, applications, or community requests.
  • Service providers that support hosting, storage, communications, video calls, push notifications, mapping, identity verification, customer support, security, analytics, and payment processing. Depending on enabled integrations, these may include payment gateways such as Stripe or PayMongo, call infrastructure such as Agora, and mobile notification services such as Firebase.
  • Other users when you intentionally publish a profile, listing, rating, review, question, answer, or community contribution. We identify which fields are public in the relevant flow.
  • Authorities or other parties where required by law, needed to protect rights and safety, investigate fraud, or respond to a valid legal process.
  • A successor organization as part of a merger, financing, restructuring, or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice requirements.

Service providers may use information only to perform services for us or as otherwise permitted by law, and we require protection consistent with this policy. We do not use health information for third-party advertising or share it with data brokers.

5. Health and sensitive information

Health, medical, identity, and precise-location information can be especially sensitive. We limit access based on role and purpose and use these details only to provide requested features, support care operations, meet legal duties, or protect users.

DokSalamat helps users connect with healthcare professionals and manage care-related information. It is not an emergency service and the app itself is not a medical device. It does not replace a qualified healthcare professional’s judgment. For an emergency, contact your local emergency service.

6. Your choices and rights

You can update profile details, manage alerts and device permissions, choose whether to share device location, and control certain privacy and consent settings from the app or your device. You may also request access, correction, export, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or deletion where applicable.

If your DokSalamat app allows account creation, you can request account deletion from Account → Profile & privacy → Delete account. You can also contact support. We may need to verify your identity before completing a rights request.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described here, including providing the Services, maintaining security, resolving disputes, and meeting tax, payment, professional, healthcare-record, or other legal obligations. Retention periods vary by the type of information and relationship.

Account deletion requests are normally processed within 30 days. Deleting an account removes or de-identifies information that is no longer needed. Some information may be retained for longer when required by law, necessary for patient safety or professional recordkeeping, needed to complete a transaction, or required to prevent fraud and protect legal rights. Public content may remain if it has been de-identified or is necessary to preserve the integrity of a conversation or record.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed for the nature of the information we handle. These include access controls, authentication, logging, secure transmission, and separation of protected records where appropriate. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password or device lock and notify support if you suspect unauthorized access.

9. Children's privacy

DokSalamat is not intended for children to create and manage accounts independently where parental or guardian consent is required. A parent, guardian, or authorized adult may provide information about a dependent for appointments or family features. If you believe a child provided information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

10. International processing

We are designed for users and communities in the Philippines, but some technology providers may process information in other countries. Where this occurs, we use contractual or other safeguards required by applicable law and expect recipients to protect information consistently with this policy.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our Services or legal obligations change. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date. If a change materially affects your rights or how we use sensitive information, we will provide additional notice through the Services when appropriate.

12. Contact us

For privacy questions, rights requests, or complaints, contact the DokSalamat support team through the in-app Support area or our online Help & support page. Please do not include medical documents or other highly sensitive information in an initial support message.
